FA-S series - Precision and Flexibility in the Premium Class

In the area of complex, highly precise moulds, universal eroding systems are increasingly demanded. However, “universal” means ultimate high-tech solutions are needed to set these new standards. This is in particular true for the new FA-S series from MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC, which is to be presented for the first time at the AMB 2004.

Due to price pressures from low cost manufacturing countries, the German Toolmaking and Mouldmaking industries increasingly consider its competencies in complex work as well in the highly precise production of tools and moulds. The new FA-S series of MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC does even more than fulfilling these requirements with standard equipment such as glass scales, automatic wire threading, integrated fine smoothing, absolute measuring systems with a fast processor, a tank cleaning assistance system and inverter-controlled pumps. These standards, together with the automatic functions, make the FA-S series the ultimate universal eroding system. Apart from these high standards, the FA-S series has a lot to offer with respect to automatic systems. For example, MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC calls the fully automatic generator and flushing pressure adaptation system the “PM4”. PM4 stands for ultimate productivity and process safety, as the flushing pressure adaptation is controlled to the optimum. Furthermore, PM4 offers a new and improved type of short circuit detection. The concept “Corner Master” stands for high detail rendition for small geometric elements, made possible by a new contour strategy for secondary cuts. In a few words: The Corner Master guarantees, as suggested by its name, a precise machining of corners and radii. On the other hand, SL Control, an automatic function for the processing of variable workpiece heights, avoids shoulder marks and oversize dimensions, when processing height steps. Last but not least, among the integrated automatic function count E.S.P.E.R Light for a simple choice of technology, as well as Angle Master. Angle Master features conical software for angle error compensation, guarantees continuous surface quality and ensures highest precision even for changing angular positions. The 64-bit CNC-PC control of the FA-S series has a simple operation with photo-realistic and intuitive screen display.
