Erix Automatic Spotfacer has only one moving part

Back spotfacing, counterboring, chamfering and deburring on the rear side of a hole have been regarded as intricate, time consuming sometimes impossible operations better to be avoided even more so with the introduction of numerically controlled machines. There is however one tool that solves all such problems the ERIX Automatic Spotfacing tool.

Invented in the 1970 by an employee of the famous Swedish shipyard Eriksbergs Mek. Verkstad in Gothenburg, this tool has been patented and marketed in most industrialized countries of the world.

The tool is simple in design only one moving part the wing and operated by means of natural forces friction and centrifugal force.

The Erix Automatic Spotfacer is made of high quality steel, manufactured to strict tolerances and heat treated for strength and reliability. The range of Erix tools is extremely wide. Standard tools start with a small size suitable for a hole 4.5mm in diameter and proceed in increments of either 1 /32inch for inch tools, or 1mm for metric tools, up to a 76mm hole diameter.

In addition to a number of standard spotfacing diameters, any S/F diameter is available within the geometric restriction that the S/F diameter cannot substantially exceed two times the hole diameter. When a standard tool cannot meet the requirements, there are a large number of special tools that can be made to customer’s specifications for spotfacing counterboring, chamfering and deburring to operate backwards or forwards or in both directions.

By using the Erix Automatics Spotfacing tools you save time at least 60 to 80 percent when compared to conventional tools. Very often time savings can equal 90 percent.

For the past five years the Erix line of tools had been manufactured and marketed by Erix Tool AB in Gothenburg Sweden.
