A great show at EMCO

The EMCO Machining Days are rapidly becoming an exclusive exhibition for specialists in the machining industry

Hallein, May 2007. The 5th EMCO Machining Days drew to a sensational close this year, with even the event's organiser itself being overwhelmed by its huge success and the enormous number of visitors. More than 1,400 people came from all over Europe, Asia and Africa, removing any doubt there may ever have been that the Machining Days are a reference point and international highlight on the Austrian trade-fair calendar.

One of the reasons for the great international interest in this year's conference was the success of the previous ones. Another, however, and this is perhaps more important, is that the programme on offer is of an exceptional quality, which means people quite simply have to attend. EMCO presented a product range for the fields of CNC turning and milling that visibly surprised even the most seasoned of EMCO customers and partners with its breadth and quality. Alongside the well known machines of the EMCOTURN, MAXXTURN and HYPERTURN series, customers also had the opportunity to experience EMCO's latest developments live at work. The EMCOFAMUP LINEARMILL 600 was the highlight among the machining centres. The training star was the CONCEPTTURN 450. The conventional machine EMCOMILL C40linear was presented to customers for the first time and received a rousing reception. 32 highly reputable co-exhibitors framed the EMCO programme, exhibiting their turning, milling, erosion and grinding products in the new EMCO Demonstration Centre and in a specially erected exhibition hall. Many toolmakers were among them, as were chucking specialists, measuring tool suppliers, tool presetting equipment makers and many more besides.

For the first time ever, a Training Day was also held within the context of the Machining Days this year. More than 300 people attended from the technical training field and used the opportunity to find out about the modular training programme offered by world market leader EMCO. Of course, they could inspect and try out all the machines and software in the range too. And the lecture programme also attracted great interest with its top-class list of speakers from the industry and training sectors.

The EMCO Machining Days were characterised by a wonderfully relaxed and cooperative atmosphere, which lent the occasion the feel of a large industry get-together. Visitors clearly enjoyed the impression of not being at a trade fair, as well as the delicious catering with Austrian specialities. And some of the attendees had a very special reason to celebrate: either as the winner of an "EMCO Limited Edition" KTM mountain bike or as the winner of a spectacular helicopter flight in a five-seater, turbine driven Hughes 500.
