Arcam is a technology company that has developed a FFF technique (Free Form Fabrication), which makes it possible to produce solid metal details directly from metal powder, based on a 3D CAD model.

Using a computer-controlled electron beam - EBM technology (Electron Beam Melting) - the metal powder is melted together layer by layer.

The technique dramatically reduces the production time of injection and compression moulding tools, functional prototypes and function details.

This satisfies a growing need within the manufacturing industry to reduce the lead time from design to finished product.
